IGF-1 LR3
IGF-1 LR3 IGF-1 LR3—also known as Long R3 IGF-1—is an investigational, 83-amino-acid analog of human insulin-like growth factor 1. It contains an arginine substitution at position three and a 13-amino-acid extension at the N-terminus. These structural modifications reduce its affinity for insulin-like growth-factor-binding proteins while retaining activity at the IGF-1 receptor. IGF-1 LR3 is used in laboratory research involving IGF-1 receptor signaling, cellular growth and differentiation, protein synthesis, glucose metabolism, tissue development, and mammalian cell-culture applications. IGF-1 LR3 is not the same compound as mecasermin, the FDA-approved recombinant human IGF-1 medicine. IGF-1 LR3 remains experimental and is not an FDA-approved medication or treatment. Research Use Only: This product is intended strictly for laboratory research and analytical purposes. It is not approved for human or veterinary use, consumption, diagnosis, treatment, or administration.
